Team Catalyst

Established in 2005 and located in Sydney, Australia, Team Catalyst is a company specialising in greenhouse gas mitigation in non-residential buildings. It is directed by PC Thomas and GS Rao.

PC Thomas

PC specialises in Integrated Building Design; using simulation tools to assist in the design and delivery of sustainable buildings. He has a Masters degree in Mechanical Engineering, followed by 20 years' consulting, research and teaching experience in Sustainable Buildings, Building Energy Simulation, Energy Auditing, Energy Efficiency in Buildings, and Solar Energy.

PC is both an Accredited Assessor for existing buildings, and an Independent Design Review Panel (IDRP) member for the Australian Building Greenhouse Rating (ABGR). He is also an accredited professional with the Green Star scheme for rating broader building sustainability and a member of the Green Star Faculty and Independent Chair. PC is a committee member on the International Energy Agency Task for Validation and Testing of Building Energy Simulation Software. PC was invited to be a member on Working Groups that helped develop the energy efficiency provisions for the BCA.

PC enjoys working in a team environment to help deliver sustainable, high performance buildings. He is a founding Director of Team Catalyst Proprietary Limited, with the motto, "Driving Sustainability Through Teamwork"!

GS Rao

GS has over 20 years in the Heating Ventilating and Air Conditioning (HVAC) industry and has worked in product development, marketing and business development roles with leading manufacturers of central plant equipment in Australia and overseas. He is presently a Director of Team Catalyst.

He has a degree in Mechanical Engineering followed by an MBA (Exec) from the Australian Graduate School of Management. GS is an Accredited Assessor for existing buildings, for the Australian Building Greenhouse Rating (ABGR). He is also an accredited professional with the Green Star scheme for rating broader building sustainability. He specialises in providing optimal solutions that maximise HVAC plant efficiency and minimise green house gas emissions using simulation tools and selection software. He has extensive knowledge of products and systems that make up large central plant air conditioning systems for both industrial and commercial applications.
